What you'll do
- Build and lead a team of high-caliber software engineers, including hiring, performance management, career development, and fostering an inclusive, high-output team culture.
- Set and communicate a multi-quarter technical roadmap across core data, identity, measurement, targeting, and the ML feature platform, and make prioritization and buy-vs-build decisions.
- Partner with product management, data science, ML engineering, privacy/legal, and adjacent Ads and Data Platform teams to translate business goals into a coherent engineering plan.
- Raise the bar on engineering quality across system design, data correctness, reliability (SLAs/SLOs), and operational excellence for systems running continuously at massive scale.
- Champion privacy-by-design and responsible data handling as a first-class requirement in every system your team builds.
- Represent your team's work and trade-offs to senior leadership, and communicate technical risk and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll need
- 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years managing engineers, including hiring and performance management.
- Experience delivering large-scale distributed data systems, data pipelines, streaming/batch processing, and data stores handling high volume and low latency.
- Strong foundation in at least one of: identity resolution, ad measurement/attribution, audience targeting/segmentation, or feature/data pipelines for ML.
- Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and successfully lead teams through ambiguity.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
