Senior Engineering Manager, AI Roblox Studio

Overview

Lead the Studio Assistant team, driving the strategy and execution of Roblox's agentic AI system that powers creation for millions of Roblox creators.

What you'll do

• Grow the organization by attracting and retaining the best talent in AI engineering and applied ML.
• Own the technical strategy for the agentic AI stack, balancing speed, reliability, and creator experience.
• Balance researching emerging AI capabilities with a practical approach to shipping them into the Roblox product.
• Lead other engineers by example, through technical direction, and by authoring specs for new features and architectural improvements.
• Put the Roblox creator community first and represent the company through thought leadership.

What you'll need

• 10+ years of experience in large-scale software deployments.
• Proven track record of leading large teams (15+) and delivering highly performant technical solutions.
• Experience building or leading teams that ship AI/ML-powered products in production.
• BS in Computer Science.
• Experience with agentic systems, LLM orchestration, evaluation frameworks, and the operational challenges of shipping AI features reliably at scale.
• Strategic vision: ability to identify high-impact opportunities, shape them into a roadmap, and get buy-in from leadership and partner teams.
• Track record of working across organizational boundaries, aligning with partner teams and driving joint execution on complex cross-team initiatives.
• Team-orientation: a personality that invigorates the team and experience leading and growing technical teams in any situation.

Details

• Based at headquarters in San Mateo, CA, United States.
• Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
• Full-time employment; eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
• Annual base salary range $345,040 to $399,420 USD.
• For US based roles only: the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
