Senior Java Full-Stack Engineer

Overview

Roche is hiring a Senior Java Full-Stack Engineer to develop and support enterprise digital healthcare systems. The role requires hands-on front-end and back-end engineering, with a primary focus on Java, Kotlin or TypeScript.

What you'll do

• Develop across front-end and back-end systems.
• Create reusable skills and software agents.
• Implement, support, and iterate on enterprise systems.
• Apply test-driven development across front-end and back-end environments.
• Hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent.

What you'll need

• At least 5 years of experience implementing, supporting, and iterating on an enterprise system.
• Hands-on experience with agentic engineering and Claude Code or GitHub Copilot CLIs.
• Exceptional hands-on skills in Java, Kotlin, another JVM language, or TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of both Java and TypeScript.
• In-depth understanding of Spring Boot and Angular.
• Hands-on knowledge of one RDBMS and one NoSQL or document database.
• Working knowledge of a continuous integration system such as Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitHub Actions.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of healthcare software such as EPIC, Cerner Millennium, or OpenEMR.
• Knowledge of HL7 or FHIR open standards.
• Domain expertise in Oncology or General Practice Management.
