Senior Machine Learning Data Scientist - Assistant Vice President

Overview

Senior Data Scientist role within the ML Solutions team of Markets OPS Technology, driving the design, development and deployment of AI/ML and GenAI solutions from concept to production, and mentoring team members.

What you'll do

• Actively contribute to the development and delivery of AI solutions, driving innovation and excellence within the team.
• Take a hands-on approach to ensure AI models are successfully deployed into production environments, meeting high-quality standards and performance benchmarks.
• Mentor team members, guiding data analysts and ML engineers from concept to production, fostering technical growth, providing project oversight and ensuring adherence to best practices.
• Ensure the quality and performance of generative AI models, conducting rigorous testing and evaluation.
• Participate in research activities to explore and advance state-of-the-art generative AI techniques, keeping abreast of emerging trends.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers and data scientists to integrate AI technologies into products and services.

What you'll need

• 8-12 years of strong hands-on experience in Machine Learning, delivering complex solutions to production.
• Experience with Generative AI technologies.
• Understanding of concepts like supervised, unsupervised, clustering and embedding.
• Knowledge of NLP, Named Entity Recognition, Computer Vision, Transformers and Large Language Models.
• In-depth knowledge of deep learning and Generative AI frameworks such as Langchain, Lang Graph, Google ADK or similar.
• Experience with open-source frameworks, libraries and APIs such as Hugging Face Transformers, Spacy, Pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy and OpenCV.
• Experience using Machine Learning/Deep Learning tools: XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow, PyTorch and Keras.
• Proficiency in Python software development, following Object-Oriented design patterns and best practices.
• Strong background in mathematics: linear algebra, probability, statistics and optimization.
• Experience with evaluation and scoring using frameworks such as ML Flow.
• Hands-on experience with agentic evaluation frameworks and guardrails.
• Experience with Docker containers and editing a Dockerfile.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Master's degree/Ph.D. or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field. Education: Bachelor's degree/Master's degree/Ph.D. or equivalent experience.

• Publications and contributions to the AI research community.
