Senior Manager - Area Financial Controller

Overview

The Area Financial Controller consolidates and analyses financial results for a Cluster/Area of Markets within a wider GSK Region, providing key highlights to the Cluster/Area Head Finance and working closely with Market Finance Directors and the Controllership and Planning & Forecasting teams in the Hub.

What you'll do

• Consolidate and review the accuracy of monthly, quarterly and annual financial results, assessing alignment to the overall financial plan and working with the Market to understand local dynamics.
• Provide continuous support to the Head of Finance and Regional Finance Team in consolidating and analysing the financial performance of the Markets / Area - Cluster.
• Produce and present consolidated financial results for the Market / Area - Cluster based on requirements received from the Corporate finance team.
• Participate and contribute in Market / Area / Regional business review meetings as appropriate.
• Manage Market / Area - Cluster Operating Expenditure and all reporting requirements, including OE and Headcount Reporting.
• Handle quarterly SOX requirements including Judgement Reporting, Intangible impairments, Legal provisions and Significant contracts.
• Ensure entity results are fully compliant with all relevant accounting standards, current best practice, and any other regulation or finance manual.
• Execute control activities that operate in line with global processes and incorporate best practices in financial controls.
• Partner with Internal and External auditors where required.
• Deliver insights to the Area / Region / Segment on key risks, growth and performance, making recommendations for continuous improvement and remediating actions as required.
• Drive projects at Controllership, Area/Cluster, Regional and Global level as appropriate.
• Actively engage and interface with the wider One Finance team (Controllership, Planning and Forecasting, Finance Business Partners, Tax, Supply Chain, Corporate etc.).

What you'll need

• Accounting degree and/or qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• 10-15 years of experience in Finance Controlling, Planning and Forecasting and Finance Partnering.
• Experience of working with SOX requirements.
• Very familiar with systems such as SAP / S4Hana, Bison, Vista, Power BI and Lumira.
• Excellent communication and organisation skills; able to manage and present to senior stakeholders at different levels.
• High level of analytical skills, translating analysis into outputs that support the Finance team.
• Outside-of-the-box thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to connect, communicate and partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Ability to identify and resolve issues, demonstrate problem-solving capability and strong commercial acumen.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote, multicultural and global environment supporting multiple countries / entities globally.
• Attention to detail, with good analytical and presentation skillsets.
• Excellent at challenging the status quo of reporting requirements and driving digital developments.

Nice to have

• Previous experience of working with SAP/S4Hana, Lumira, Power BI, or Agentic AI.

• Requires a high level of flexibility and adjustment given the nature of the role and coverage within the region's time zone.
