Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Overview

Senior Manager, Software Engineering for Slack’s Growth engineering team in India (Bangalore). The role leads engineering execution and people development for building and improving Slack’s purchase and billing experience for enterprise software.

What you’ll do

• Use data to make decisions about prioritisation and impact.
• Drive experimentation and guide implementation of best practices.
• Mentor and coach engineers and support their growth into technical leaders.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing to conceive features for users.
• Build roadmaps and long-term team vision with the Product team.
• Be accountable for project execution and define the engineering hiring plan.

What you’ll need

• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading teams.
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor) in development workflows.
• Advanced prompt engineering skills for precise, structured prompts.
• Ability to weigh conflicting constraints to make rapid decisions.
• Enough technical experience to discuss architecture and product decisions with engineers.
• Proven history of shipping products with consistent execution.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
