Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Overview

Lead the architecture, development, testing, and integration of embedded software for networking devices, including firmware, device drivers, stack extensions, and test utilities. The role supports safety-critical automotive applications.

What you'll do

• Lead architecture and design of the networking device software stack.
• Implement and integrate embedded firmware, device drivers, stack extensions, debugging tools, and test utilities.
• Develop firmware to configure, control, and monitor communication devices.
• Design device drivers that expose hardware capabilities to applications, middleware, and operating systems.
• Develop automated unit and system tests for reliable software.
• Build firmware for safety-critical automotive applications.
• Apply safety and software development best practices.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software, or a related field.
• At least 18 years of relevant embedded software development experience.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, implementation, and testing.
• Proficiency in C/C++.
• Extensive embedded firmware experience, preferably with Ethernet or other communication devices.
• Experience integrating and testing firmware and low-level code.
• Hands-on experience with hardware and embedded processors.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python.
• Experience with simulation and emulation platforms.
• Experience with GNU or similar compiler and debugging suites.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, Ethernet, or USB hardware buses.
• Experience with MISRA, ASPICE, or ISO 26262 for safety-critical systems.
• Experience with Ethernet, TCP/IP, PCIe, NTB, or SR-IOV protocols.
• Experience with ARM processors, bootloaders, or version-control tools.

• Location: Pune, India, with hybrid work; remote work in India is considered case by case.
