Senior Security Engineer, FedRAMP

Overview

Senior Cloud Security Engineer for Abnormal AI’s FedRAMP authorized environment. Own secure delivery, security automation, identity controls, telemetry, and incident response for a federal cloud platform.

What you'll do

• Build and improve secure delivery workflows for federal-environment deployments.
• Create policy gates that evaluate infrastructure changes and required approvals before deployment.
• Integrate security scanning and control validation into delivery workflows to surface issues early.
• Automate patch deployment, including testing, scheduling, rollout, validation, exceptions, and compliance reporting.
• Design and enforce identity and access controls across the cloud environment.
• Own security logging and monitoring pipelines, including ingestion, retention, and alerting.
• Lead security incident response across investigation, containment, recovery, evidence preservation, and after-action reporting.

What you'll need

• 8+ years in cloud security engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure security, or a closely related discipline.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience building or securing cloud deployment pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, preferably Python.
• Working knowledge of identity and access management design and enforcement in large cloud environments.
• Production experience with security monitoring and incident response, including follow-through.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating security automation into CI/CD and SecOps workflows.
• Prior experience supporting federal audits or 3PAO engagements.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls, continuous monitoring, and security impact analysis.
• Familiarity with FedRAMP or other highly regulated government cloud environments.
