Senior Shopify Engineer

Overview

Senior Shopify front-end engineer to build high-performing, accessible, responsive Shopify themes and reusable components, bridging design and technology to deliver seamless e-commerce experiences.

What you'll do

• Create production-ready front-end code with Shopify.
• Build reusable Shopify components and theme areas.
• Drive quality through unit testing, accessibility, performance, and code reviews.
• Integrate with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimize efficiency and functionality.
• Deliver work in an Agile front-end development stream with estimates, stand-ups, and sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate to gather and refine specifications and requirements for development.
• Own integrations, maintenance, expansion, and scaling from idea through delivery.

What you'll need

• Mastery of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (SASS or LESS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Extensive experience with Shopify and the Liquid templating engine.
• Commercial experience using Git with Continuous Integration in a large development team.
• Testing and debugging ability using the browser console and other tools.
• Experience with unit testing/end-to-end/regression testing using Jest and Cypress.
• Proficiency with fluid responsive layouts and cross-browser/cross-device compatibility.
• Strong communication skills with team and stakeholders.

• Work approach: hybrid, with teams in the office an average of four days a week.
