Senior Software Engineer - Android

Overview

Senior Android developer to build and ship consumer-facing mobile features, working closely with designers, product managers and backend engineers in an Agile/Scrum team.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with a cross-functional team to design, build and ship quality features.
• Contribute best-in-class programming skills to develop highly innovative, consumer-facing new features.
• Go beyond standard duties to champion small details, spot opportunities and add extra value for users.
• Work on improving application performance.
• Stay close to the user and iterate fast as a team.
• Mentor other developers and help the team sustain robust engineering practices.
• Build secure, scalable and high performance Android applications in Kotlin and Compose that meet business requirements.
• Apply Clean Code principles and strong design patterns to produce maintainable and robust code.

What you'll need

• Experience developing apps that delight users, having shipped one or more apps to the Play Store.
• Experience building secure, scalable and high performance Android applications in Kotlin and Compose.
• Experience monitoring app performance and using tools to debug issues.
• Experience writing tests (unit test, integration test, UI test etc.).
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, clean architecture and Object Oriented Programming (SOLID principles).
• Confident with core Android components: Jetpack Compose, Activities, Fragments, Service, Content Providers, Broadcast Receivers, and understanding of lifecycles.
• Used and familiar with popular third-party libraries and services.
• Experience with CI/CD.
• Collaborated with backend engineers to help define mobile-friendly services.
• Experience building multi-module apps.
