Senior Software Engineer, Core Experiences - Mumbai, India

Overview

Senior Software Engineer for the Core Experiences team, building and maintaining foundational services and SDKs that power Speechify’s product experience across platforms.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with product teams to scope projects and reduce scope for faster customer feedback.
• Navigate integration and UX tradeoffs across different product teams.
• Optimize existing functionality to improve loading speed and parsing through efficient abstractions and improved algorithms.
• Ship cloud functions, lightweight backend services, and jobs using Kotlin.

What you'll need

• Systems thinking with end-to-end design and value for simplicity.
• Ability to work quickly to generate options and decide what can ship now vs later.
• Ability to focus by engaging appropriately or working heads down when needed.
• Collaboration skills to work with opinionated designers, marketers, and PMs.
• Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (Java experience is OK).
• Prior GCP experience is preferred.
