Senior Software Engineer, Creator Collaboration

Overview

Design and build the services that let creators collaborate in real time, including the Team Create product and the Creation Platform that powers external AI agents through MCP and Build on Roblox.

What you'll do

• Help and understand the needs of the community that uses our software, from beginning artists to professional scripters and designers.
• Take ownership and responsibility for designing, building, testing, and deploying services within the Roblox ecosystem.
• Own the Creation Platform that powers agentic products, including the APIs and services that agents reach through MCP.
• Be a technical bar-raiser for high code quality, architectural designs, and long-term planning, and mentor fellow engineers on the team.

What you'll need

• Experience architecting, designing and leading implementation of a wide array of software products.
• Experience supporting mission-critical applications at scale.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Java, Python or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with agentic systems, harnesses and models.
• 7+ years shipping high complexity code.
• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases at scale.
• Understanding of the components required to build modern large-scale infrastructure.
• Ability to recommend one route versus another and bring engineers to an agreement.
• Comfortable designing platforms and APIs that other products, including AI agents, build on top of.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MCP or similar agent tooling.

Details

• Location: San Mateo, CA, United States (headquarters).
• Onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday.
• Annual base salary range $243,290 to $295,250 USD.
• Full-time employees are eligible for equity compensation and benefits.
• For US based roles only, the Company may not be able to employ candidates who have United States work authorization related to certain U.S. visa categories, or support future H-1B sponsorship at this time.
