Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack), Global Actions

Overview

Senior full stack engineer to build Global Actions, the systems that make core actions work consistently across every surface and platform on Roblox, starting with the Affinity System that unifies Saves, Collections, and Wishlists in place of the current Favorites experience.

What you'll do

• Design and build the backend APIs and services, covering collections, items, pagination, and batching, that power Saves, Collections, and Wishlists
• Lead the migration from Favorites to Saved without losing user data, across web, mobile, desktop, console, and VR
• Build user facing surfaces, including the Saved Library and Collections pages, in partnership with Product and Design
• Design for privacy and safety, so users only see content and Collections they're allowed to view
• Extend the system to new entity types as the platform grows

What you'll need

• 3+ years of experience building full-stack systems, including backend, APIs, and frontend applications at scale
• Experience with React
• Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript or similar
• Experience with data modeling for systems with complex relationships, such as privacy and visibility rules
• Strong understanding of client server architecture, data modeling, and API design at scale
• Ability to tackle ambiguous problems, such as moderation, eligibility, and migration edge cases, systematically
• Ability to thrive in cross functional environments and enjoy mentoring

• Location: San Mateo, CA, United States (headquarters)
• Roles based in the office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted)
• Annual base salary range: $196,750 to $243,290 USD; actual base pay depends on job-related factors and may fall outside this range
• Full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and benefits
