Senior Software Engineer II

Overview

Senior Software Engineer II role building, maintaining and improving critical data and platform solutions that support business operations and customer outcomes, working within a cross-functional squad.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain the software solutions assigned to the team.
• Troubleshoot issues reported by customers.
• Participate in knowledge sharing sessions with the wider group.
• Contribute to planning efforts with analysis and estimation of proposed product work.
• Provide support to other teams.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement effort.
• Keep track of the health and ongoing work around main platforms and services.
• Coordinate with Analysts, infrastructure and support teams when issues arise, and monitor important platform changes and platform-related risks.
• Check support and operational channels for anything requiring attention.
• Review or participate in discussions around architecture, implementation approaches and technical trade-offs.
• Coordinate with Product, Data Science, SRE, Platform and other dependent teams, including upcoming work with dependencies.
• Ensure important technical decisions and operational procedures are documented.

What you'll need

• Expertise in Python programming language.
• Strong knowledge of platform areas such as Databricks, Airflow, PostgreSQL / databases, Snowflake, Kafka, CI/CD and GitHub repositories.
• Good understanding of AWS / infrastructure.
