Overview
Develop Salesforce solutions across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, integrated systems, and AI-powered capabilities for cross-functional solutions serving 2,000+ users. Translate stakeholder needs into scalable, secure, compliant designs while contributing to software strategy, mentoring, and release governance.
What you'll do
- Interface with business analysts, platform admins, and technical team members to finalize requirements across Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and the broader Salesforce ecosystem.
- Write and review detailed technical specifications for custom Apex/LWC solutions, Experience Cloud site designs, and AI agent/automation designs.
- Complete complex bug fixes across Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flow automation, and third-party integrations.
- Translate complex product requirements into scalable Service Cloud and Experience Cloud architecture and software designs.
- Implement development processes, coding best practices, code reviews, and AI-assisted development standards, including responsible use, review, and validation of AI-generated code.
- Design, build, and govern AI-driven agents and automations within Service Cloud and Experience Cloud, ensuring outputs are accurate, secure, and aligned with business processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across sales technology teams in Agile, Waterfall, and other development environments.
- Resolve complex technical issues across Salesforce and adjacent platforms, including Oracle Sales Cloud Incentive Comp, Gainsight, and Monday.com.
- Train and onboard entry-level software engineers on Salesforce development standards and AI-assisted tooling as directed by department management.
- Stay current on Salesforce platform releases, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud developments, and evolving AI development tooling.
- Design and work with complex Salesforce data models supporting a 2,000+ user org, including performance and scalability considerations.
- Mentor less-senior software developers on Salesforce development methodologies, optimization techniques, and effective and responsible use of AI development tools.
- Ensure development work aligns with release management, packaging, and compliance/audit requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, with 3+ years building and supporting enterprise Salesforce implementations, including hands-on Service Cloud and/or Experience Cloud delivery.
- BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification.
- Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile/Scrum and Waterfall, as applied to Salesforce release cycles and org governance.
- Strong proficiency in Apex, SOQL/SOSL, and data manipulation and optimization techniques, including bulkification, governor-limit-aware design, and asynchronous processing patterns.
- Deep working knowledge of Service Cloud, including case management, Omni-Channel routing, queues and skills-based routing, entitlements and milestones, and Knowledge.
- Solid experience with Experience Cloud, including LWR and Aura-based site building, community templates, sharing sets/rules, guest user security, and partner/customer self-service portal design.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce data modeling, including standard/custom objects, normalized versus denormalized structures, sharing/security models, and large data volume design.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce data storage and integration subsystems, including Salesforce Connect, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, MuleSoft or equivalent middleware, and external objects.
- Expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Aura, JavaScript, SOQL/SOSL, Flow/Flow Orchestrator, and REST/SOAP API integrations.
- Working knowledge of Java/J2EE, HTML, XML, SQL, and .NET for integration and legacy system touchpoints.
- Hands-on proficiency with Agentforce/Einstein, AI coding assistants including Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor, and evaluation of AI-generated code and outputs for security, compliance, and quality before production.
- Strong research skills, including staying current on Salesforce release notes, Service Cloud and Experience Cloud feature rollouts, and AI feature releases.
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce development best practices, including Apex design patterns, trigger frameworks, and CI/CD via Copado, Gearset, or Salesforce DX/SFDX pipelines.
- Knowledge of the broader sales technology tool stack and its integration with Salesforce, including CPQ/Incentive Comp platforms, Gainsight, and Monday.com.
- Ability to interface with business analysts, admins, technical personnel, and internal teams and external SI/ISV partners.
- Knowledge of test-driven development, including Apex unit testing, LWC Jest testing, and AI-assisted test generation.
- Ability to write and review technical specifications for complex system components, Service Cloud/Experience Cloud designs, and AI agent/automation design documents.
- Ability to complete complex bug fixes across Apex, LWC, integrations, and declarative automation.
- Good oral and written communication skills, including explaining design and AI-assisted decisions and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
