Senior Software Engineer - SAP MDG

Overview

Senior Software Engineer - SAP MDG, working as a SAP MDG technical consultant and member of the regional IT Solution Center APAC. The role provides hands-on application management and support across the full lifecycle of SAP MDG solutions.

What you'll do

• Provide application management and support across the full lifecycle of solutions, including handover, operations and application retirement.
• Coordinate and implement enhancements in the SAP MDG system.
• Provide technical support for roll-out activities in all regions of ZEISS.
• Ensure appropriate technical system documentation.
• Develop and implement enterprise master data solutions in SAP MDG.
• Configure standard masters including Material, Finance, Supplier and Customer.
• Extend standard masters.
• Define custom data models.
• Configure user interfaces.
• Configure and extend workflows.
• Configure validations with BRF+.
• Perform master data extraction and load.
• Deliver master data integration from SAP MDG to another SAP system or non-SAP system.
• Implement SAP MDG solutions for Customer, Vendor, Material and Financial masters.
• Create an integration test plan for MDG, Data Services Information Steward and ECC/CRM backend.
• Enhance data models.
• Perform data transfer using DIF/DEF.
• Configure the Data Replication Framework.
• Configure rule-based workflows and Business Rules Framework plus (BRFplus).
• Integrate business process requirements with the technical implementation of SAP Master Data Governance.
• Design and create user interfaces, including value restrictions and navigation elements such as hyperlinks or push buttons.
• Configure data quality, validation and derivation rules.
• Model entities, business activities, change requests, request types, workflows, edition types and relationships.
• Configure data replication techniques, SOA services, ALE connections, key and value mapping, data transfer, master data export and import, and master data conversion.

What you'll need

• 5 years of experience in Master Data Management & Governance.
• At least 5 years of in-depth exposure to SAP MDG applications covering Business Partner, Material and Financials.
• Experience covering at least 5 of the following fields: SAP Business Workflow; ABAP Web Dynpro and Floor Plan Manager; integration technologies such as ALE and IDOC; Material Master Maintenance processes; configuring ERP Material Master; implementing SAP MDG; specific knowledge of SAP MDG across Customer, Vendor, Finance, Material and master data elements; data modelling and configuring change request flow for MDG objects; and/or user interface design on SAP Floor Plan Manager.
• Strong knowledge of ABAP Object Oriented Programming, Master Data Governance, ABAP Floor Plan Manager, ABAP Web Dynpro and ABAP Workflow.
• Strong knowledge of configuring MDG applications.
• Hands-on experience implementing BADIs, classes and methods.
• Experience with SOA, ALE/IDOCs, data replication techniques and MDG error handling.
• Experience with validations and derivations.
• Experience integrating MDG with other components of the SAP Enterprise Information Management stack and with the external world.
• Experience applying design and architecture design principles.
• Experience setting up master data governance processes.
• Experience integrating with masters in ERP/CRM.
• Experience with data quality setup, duplicate checks and other required validation.
• Experience migrating existing master data into the MDG hub.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing SAP MDG, preferably Material, on multiple projects.
• Experience with BRF+ integration into MDG, preferably version 7.0.
• Delivering master data integration from SAP MDG to another SAP system or non-SAP system is highly desirable.
