Senior Software Test Engineer I

Overview

Support the Quality Engineering teams with a high attention to detail in a disciplined agile environment, focusing on test automation for complex API, web and mobile applications.

What you'll do

• Research, analyze and document findings.
• Influence others within the Engineering team by explaining facts, policies and practices.
• Test complex API, web and mobile-based applications that reference database back-end systems.
• Create and maintain automated test cases, execute test suites, review and diagnose reported bugs, and ensure overall system quality prior to a customer release.
• Design, develop, maintain and troubleshoot automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value-added feedback.
• Design, develop, execute and maintain robust test automation frameworks and test suites using Playwright for web application testing across multiple browsers and platforms.
• Derive testing requirements throughout the development cycle.
• Reproduce, debug and isolate problems and verify fixes.
• Assist in creating software artifacts including test plans, test cases, test procedures and test reports.
• Plan test schedules and/or strategies in accordance with project scope and delivery dates.
• Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance and completeness and to mitigate risks.
• Provide feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality.
• Identify program deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance.
• Develop and specify standards, methods or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.
• Conduct historical analyses of test results.
• Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions.
• Demonstrate hands-on experience with AI-powered engineering and developer productivity tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI assistants to accelerate test design, automation development, debugging, code reviews and quality engineering activities.
• Leverage AI tools to improve test coverage, generate and optimize automated test scenarios, analyze defects, enhance productivity and drive overall quality engineering effectiveness while adhering to organizational security and compliance standards.
• Apply automation best practices and modern Quality Engineering techniques to build scalable, maintainable and reliable testing solutions that support continuous delivery and rapid product innovation.

Nice to have

• Experience with modern test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based testing platforms.
• Hands-on expertise in Playwright automation for web applications.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
• Strong analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills with a quality-first mindset.
