Senior Staff Software Engineer shaping technical strategy across multiple teams or a full product area.

What you'll do

• Define technical direction and architecture for a product area spanning multiple teams.
• Act independently on significant, unique high-ambiguity technical problems.
• Partner with staff/principal peers and Product/UX leadership to align technical roadmap with business strategy.
• Establish engineering standards adopted org-wide within the domain.
• Build formal cross-group networks and function as a recognized authority beyond the immediate team.
• Mentor Staff Engineers and contribute to technical leveling and promotion calibration.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience with Java and backend application development.
• Designing, building, and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Experience shaping architecture or technical direction across multiple teams.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and contributing to technical leveling decisions.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Devin, Windsurf) in a professional setting.
