About the Job
We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Platform Administrator on a 6–12-month remote contract to join a Snowflake Center of Excellence (COE). In this role you will manage, secure, and optimize the enterprise Snowflake platform to enable data engineering, analytics, and business teams across the Fast-Moving Consumer Health (FMCH) domain. You will own platform administration, governance, cost and performance monitoring, and automation while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to scale a secure, resilient data environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Snowflake objects: warehouses, databases, schemas, users, roles, and resource monitors to ensure stable operations.
- Design and enforce security and access governance (RBAC, network policies, network rules) across the platform.
- Integrate and manage identity with Azure Active Directory, including role mapping to Azure AD groups and SSO flows.
- Monitor platform performance, usage patterns, and costs; implement rightsizing and tuning to optimize spend and throughput.
- Manage advanced Snowflake capabilities: data sharing (provider/consumer), cloning, time travel & data recovery, and multi-region considerations.
- Develop automation for operational tasks using SQL and Python; build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake deployments via GitHub Actions.
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and architects to enable secure, scalable data models and ingestion patterns.
- Contribute to COE standards, best practices, and governance frameworks; evaluate new Snowflake features for adoption.
- Explore opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve platform productivity and operational maturity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Snowflake administration and platform management in enterprise environments.
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and performance optimization techniques.
- Proven experience implementing RBAC, Network Policies, and Network Rules in Snowflake.
- Experience integrating Snowflake with Azure Active Directory and managing role/group mapping.
- Strong scripting proficiency in SQL and Python for automation and operational tasks.
- Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions to create CI/CD workflows for database deployments.
- Familiarity with data sharing, cloning, recovery processes, and storage/API/notification integrations.
- Knowledge of data lakes, real-time processing patterns, and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills; domain exposure to FMCH preferred.
