Software Development Engineer II - Full stack - Frontend heavy (React.JS/Java/GraphQL)

Overview

Software Development Engineer II focused on full-stack development with a front-end heavy emphasis (React/JavaScript/GraphQL). You’ll build and evolve web applications and GraphQL APIs for Expedia Global Payments.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain full stack web applications emphasizing front-end experiences using React and JavaScript.
• Contribute to back-end services using Kotlin, Java, or another object-oriented language.
• Implement and evolve client-facing GraphQL APIs and integrations, including schema design and query optimization.
• Develop clean, testable, and maintainable code across the stack, including system design and data modeling.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end features.
• Own operational health via monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability/scalability/performance improvements.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on production web development experience using React and JavaScript.
• Exposure to at least one object-oriented back-end language such as Java or Kotlin.
• GraphQL-based solution experience, including creating and consuming schemas.
• Ability to design low-level system components including REST/GraphQL APIs and data models.
• Solid understanding of React, Redux, CSS/Sass, HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and Express.
