Software Development Engineer - Python & C#/.Net

Overview

Software Development Engineer building and maintaining backend services that deliver machine learning and AI capabilities for industrial environments, working across Python and C#/.NET.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs in Python and C#/.NET for production use.
• Translate architectural decisions into clean, maintainable implementations following defined patterns.
• Build integrations and deploy/support software on Windows and Linux, including constrained edge deployments without internet access.
• Use AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day work and own tasks end to end (tests, documentation, code reviews).
• Contribute to a web-based management interface to improve observability and operational ease.
• Build AI feature development across the stack for ML outputs, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI workflows.

What you'll need

• 2+ years of experience in a backend-focused role.
• Professional experience developing in Python and C#/.NET.
• Experience building or working with message-based or event-driven systems.
• Practical experience working across Windows and Linux environments.
• Working knowledge of containerization with Docker.

Nice to have

• C++ development experience, particularly on Windows or in embedded environments.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Frontend development experience with Angular or a comparable JavaScript framework.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML feature development (model deployment, RAG systems, agentic AI patterns).
• Experience developing/testing software across x86 and ARM architectures.
• Exposure to industrial automation, OT, or IoT environments.

• Hybrid work; expected to be in office 3 days a week at the Rockwell Automation office in Electronic City, Bangalore, India.
