Overview

Design, develop and maintain scalable Java applications as a Software Development Engineer Professional II at Fiserv, contributing to architecture and solution design and supporting production systems.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable Java applications.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to solution design.
• Perform hands-on coding, debugging, and troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features on time.
• Implement best practices for coding standards, performance optimization, and security.
• Work on reducing technical debt and improving code quality using tools like SonarQube and Fortify.
• Support production systems and ensure timely resolution of issues.

What you'll need

• 5–12 years overall experience, with strong expertise in design, development, and troubleshooting across the full SDLC.
• Core technologies: Java 8+.
• UI frameworks: Angular 8+ or similar (ReactJS, etc.).
• Application frameworks: Spring Boot, Quarkus, ORM frameworks.
• Microservices architecture.
• Web services: REST, SOAP, JSON, XML.
• Tools: Putty, SOAPUI, Postman.
• DevOps: GitLab or similar CI/CD tools.
• Cloud platforms: experience in any one platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Code quality and security: SonarQube, Fortify, WebInspect.
• Design patterns and architecture: SOA, Microservices, Event-driven programming, Hexagonal architecture.
• Build tools: Maven, Ant, Gradle.
• Project management and documentation: JIRA, Confluence.
