Software Engineer

Overview

Mid-level Software Engineer (IC) on the Engineering team in Bangalore, developing and maintaining parts of the Cleo software, reporting to a Senior Engineering Manager.

What you'll do

• Have an AI-first mindset, using AI coding assistants to generate code while retaining comprehension of the generated code.
• Design and develop software solutions based on defined functional and technical requirements.
• Write high quality code using languages and technologies such as Java, TypeScript, SQL, Angular, and others as needed.
• Perform systematic unit testing, debugging, and validation to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and correct assigned defects throughout the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify, resolve, and prevent software issues.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for all developed software.
• Maintain, enhance, and upgrade existing applications to ensure performance, stability, and relevance.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices in software engineering.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree (and/or Post Graduate Degree) in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• Hands-on experience working with technologies and languages like Java, Node, Typescript, Angular, and SQL.

Nice to have

• Experience in any of the cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, GCP (Preferably AWS).
• Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, AWS Bedrock), AI coding assistants (Cursor, GitHub Copilot), and agentic AI patterns, including tool use and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations.
