Software Engineer 2

Overview

Black Duck Software is hiring a Software Engineer 2 to develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices and deliver end-to-end feature development and testing.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to system design discussions and architectural decisions.
• Break down complex tasks into manageable components and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code with various tests.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA teams to support CI/CD workflows.
• Own end-to-end development and testing of features and define test plans and use cases.

What you'll need

• Over 3 years of hands-on experience in Java-based software development for enterprise-grade, customer-facing applications.
• Strong proficiency in Data Structures and Algorithms.
• Deep expertise building microservices using advanced Java concepts and Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of software design principles and design patterns.
• Experience with build/dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Proficiency in Git operations, including rebasing and conflict resolution.

Nice to have

• Awareness of contract testing and performance testing methodologies.
• Basic proficiency in Bash scripting.
• Exposure to AI-powered development tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude.
