Software Engineer

Overview

Design, develop and deliver end-to-end features across the stack for modern, scalable digital products, working in an Agile team with product managers, designers and engineers.

What you'll do

• Design and develop full-stack applications with a strong focus on backend services (Java preferred) and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue.js).
• Build, integrate and maintain RESTful APIs ensuring performance, security and scalability.
• Contribute to system design and architecture discussions, proposing solutions that balance business needs, technical constraints and long-term maintainability.
• Apply DevOps fundamentals to support CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker) and basic cloud or Kubernetes deployments.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC): requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment and support.
• Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum team, contributing to sprint planning, code reviews, retrospectives and continuous improvement.
• Write clean, testable and well-documented code, following best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, contributing to observability, monitoring and incident response.
• Continuously learn and share knowledge with peers, mentoring junior team members when applicable.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience in a product-oriented environment.
• Strong proficiency in Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA).
• Solid experience in frontend development with a modern JavaScript/TypeScript framework.
• Hands-on experience designing and consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of DevOps practices: Git, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins), Docker, and basic cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns and system design fundamentals.
• Solid grasp of SDLC and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; comfortable working in cross-functional, distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or microservices patterns.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Cypress, Playwright) and TDD/BDD practices.
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace).
• Prior contribution to product development (SaaS, digital platforms, or customer-facing applications).
• Awareness of security best practices (OWASP Top 10, secure coding).
