Software Engineer

Overview

New Era Technology is hiring a Software Engineer (Java) to be deployed at a client in Malaysia. The role focuses on Java and Spring Boot development, microservices and API development, databases, version control, ticketing, Linux scripting, and CI/CD workflows.

What you'll do

• Develop software using Java 8+ and the Spring Boot framework.
• Work hands-on with microservices and API development.
• Work with PostgreSQL databases.
• Use Git for version control.
• Use Jira for work tracking and ticketing.
• Perform basic scripting on Linux.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams.

What you'll need

• 4-5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Java 8+ and the Spring Boot framework.
• Hands-on experience with microservices and API development.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL.
• Experience using Git for version control.
• Experience with Jira for work tracking and ticketing.
• Basic Linux scripting skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and development workflows.

Nice to have

• Prior experience or knowledge in B2C applications.
• Some frontend experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams.
• Indian nationality.
• Availability to join immediately to 30 days' notice.
