Overview
Software Engineer on Coinbase’s CDP Payment Acceptance team (Developer group) building the stablecoin payment rail for merchant checkout, subscriptions, and onchain settlement.
What you'll do
- Own end-to-end feature delivery across Go backend services and the React/Next.js merchant-facing checkout experience, including APIs and protobuf definitions.
- Build and refine the buyer checkout UI including payment links, embeddable web components, and wallet connection flows.
- Implement durable payment workflows using Temporal for settlement, refunds, and reconciliation against PostgreSQL.
- Instrument changes with structured logs, metrics, and Datadog traces, and participate in an on-call rotation.
- Partner with Product, Design, and engineering teams to integrate Payment Acceptance into the Coinbase developer platform.
What you'll need
- 3+ years of professional full-stack software engineering shipping production systems in Go and TypeScript/React.
- Experience with PostgreSQL including schema design, migrations, query performance, and transactional correctness.
- Experience designing APIs using protobuf/gRPC, REST, and OpenAPI.
- Experience instrumenting production systems with structured observability such as Datadog or OpenTelemetry.
- Experience building durable workflow systems (Temporal, Cadence, or Step Functions) or working with EVM/stablecoin onchain payment patterns.
- Ability to write clear design docs, PR descriptions, and runbooks for cross-team collaboration.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight in daily workflows.
