Software Engineer (Golang), Managed K8s

Overview

Build and ship the Kubernetes product layer of Mistral's sovereign AI cloud, a metal-to-on-demand platform on in-house infrastructure with GPU support for training, inference, and general-purpose compute.

What you'll do

• Design and ship the control plane, owning the architecture and the hardest implementation decisions: scheduling, operators, provisioning, and node lifecycle.
• Own the reliability of the Kubernetes control plane, the team's headline KPI.
• Shrink the distance from metal to on-demand so provisioning a cluster takes minutes of automation rather than weeks of tickets.
• Partner with Product Managers to set priorities, scope initiatives, and make technical and business tradeoffs.
• Raise the engineering bar through code review and knowledge sharing across the Cloud Platform org.

What you'll need

• Shipped production systems in Go.
• Experience running Kubernetes in anger; building parts of it (operators, schedulers, controllers) is ideal.
• Understanding of what happens underneath Kubernetes, with direct work on Linux rather than only managed services.
• Experience running GPU workloads on Kubernetes, or confidence to own that domain quickly.
• Extensive experience building backend or infrastructure systems.
• Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software that reached real users.
• A low-ego, team-first mindset.
