Software Engineer II (Mainframe Developer)

Overview

Software Engineer II (Mainframe Developer) on Mastercard's Core Payments team, developing Authorization, Clearing, Debit and other major payment functionalities.

What you'll do

• Design and develop high-performance software that meets business requirements.
• Analyze and create cutting-edge solutions for Core Payments teams.
• Propose solutions to the team as Technical Lead.
• Lead initiatives for automation, defect metrics and overall quality.
• Coordinate with other groups, including vendors and teams within Mastercard, to ensure project success.
• Develop project schedules and track deliverables.
• Maintain and present project-related metrics reporting for management review.
• Handle coordination between teams based in various locations.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience with software development.
• Hands-on experience with Microfocus COBOL, DB2 LUW and TWS scheduler.
• Proficiency with COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, PROC, Microfocus COBOL, TWS Scheduler and DB2 LUW.
• Experience in batch and online development.
• Experience in CI and CD.
• Experience working in a full lifecycle development project using various development methodologies, including Agile.
• Understanding of the payments and cards industry.
• Technical subject matter expertise who can guide young talent.
• Involvement in and spearheading of quality initiatives.
• Result-oriented, with automation experience and code quality focus.
• Strong communicator.
• Ability to guide people to implement the right solution.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Java/J2EE and Springboot.
