What you'll do
- Configure, develop, maintain and support Micron and third-party applications.
- Create and analyze software specifications, and research, design, document, modify and support software throughout the development life cycle.
- Switch between development technologies and merge them to provide the best solution.
- Create quality software and participate in quality improvement efforts.
- Provide solutions that create business value while minimizing impact from defects, downtime or performance degradation.
- Work closely with IT, Information Security and Technology teams to drive impactful change.
- Design, engineer and implement application security solutions in a scalable way for a worldwide enterprise.
- Design, build and maintain REST APIs and backend services in C# / ASP.NET Core 8.
- Apply SOLID principles and clean dependency-injection patterns to keep the codebase reusable and maintainable.
- Work with Azure services directly: App Service, Key Vault, Blob Storage, Application Insights, Static Web Apps and API Management.
- Write and maintain unit tests, and participate in code review.
- Diagnose and fix performance and reliability issues, including async/await correctness, caching strategy (Redis) and resiliency (retries/timeouts).
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps and other engineering teams, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Use AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) in day-to-day development, validating, testing and refactoring AI-generated code.
What you'll need
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in C# / .NET.
- Solid hands-on experience with ASP.NET Core (Web API), including middleware, DI container and configuration/options pattern.
- Practical understanding of SOLID principles and object-oriented design, with the ability to apply them when reviewing or refactoring real code.
- Experience with Azure cloud services: App Service, Key Vault (or equivalent secrets management), Blob Storage, Azure Managed Instance DB, Web Jobs & Functions and Application Insights (or comparable APM/logging).
- Comfortable with asynchronous implementations.
- Experience consuming and building REST APIs.
- Familiarity with caching (Redis or similar distributed cache) and when to use it.
- Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, including writing and reasoning about queries, joins and simple schema changes; understands parameterization, basic performance/indexing concepts and locking.
- Basic working knowledge of Angular, comfortable navigating components/services, calling REST APIs and making small UI changes in an existing Angular app.
- Unit testing experience (xUnit, NUnit or MSTest) with mocking frameworks (Moq or similar).
- Git-based version control and CI/CD pipeline experience (Azure DevOps preferred).
- Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants in day-to-day development, with the judgment to validate, test and refactor AI-generated code.
Nice to have
- Exposure to API gateways (Apigee, Azure APIM).
- Experience modernizing or interoperating with legacy .NET Framework codebases (e.g., migrating from .NET Framework 4.x to .NET 8).
- Familiarity with IoC containers beyond built-in DI (e.g., Unity, Autofac).
- Understanding of resiliency patterns (retry, circuit breaker, e.g., Polly).
- Security-conscious mindset, having caught or fixed issues like disabled token validation, hardcoded secrets or missing authorization checks in a past role.
- Prior experience in a regulated/enterprise manufacturing or facilities-domain environment.
- AZ-204 Azure developer or similar certification.
