Software Engineer – Java, Springboot, Microservices, Kafka

Overview

Translate business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions. Work with stakeholders, product teams, and cross-functional departments to deliver and maintain integrated business and enterprise applications.

What you'll do

• Translate business requirements and specifications into logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutions with occasional guidance from senior colleagues.
• Partner with the product team to understand business needs and functional specifications.
• Develop, configure, or modify integrated business and enterprise application solutions within various computing environments.
• Design and code component-based applications using various programming languages.
• Test applications using test-driven development and behavior-driven development frameworks.
• Conduct root cause analysis of issues.
• Participate in the code review process to identify gaps.
• Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery processes using DevOps automation processes and tools.
• Ideate, build, and publish reusable libraries to improve productivity across teams.
• Conduct the implementation and maintenance of complex business and enterprise software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications.
• Solve difficult technical problems to ensure solutions are testable, maintainable, and efficient.
• Communicate project statuses and proposals with stakeholders and cross-functional departments.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems, or related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of the education requirement, if applicable.
• 2+ years of experience writing technical documentation in a software environment and developing and implementing business systems within an organization.
• 2+ years of experience in software development or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC) through iterative agile development.
• 2+ years of experience working with any of the following: frontend technologies (user interface/user experience), middleware (microservices and application programming interfaces), database technologies, or DevOps.
• Java.
• Springboot.
• Microservices.
• Kafka.
• Postgres.
