Specialist, Cloud Engineering

Overview

Cloud Engineer role based in Hyderabad, moving an organization's data, applications and infrastructure from on-premises environments to cloud platforms, combining technical expertise, strategic planning and project management.

What you'll do

• Evaluate the existing IT infrastructure and applications to determine cloud readiness.
• Create a comprehensive migration strategy and roadmap.
• Select the appropriate cloud platform and deployment model.
• Execute the migration plan, including data transfer, application rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring.
• Develop, document, and implement changes based on the requests for change.
• Apply change control procedures, tools, techniques, and processes to manage and report on change requests.
• Contribute to the availability management process and its operation.
• Perform defined availability management tasks.
• Contribute to capacity modelling and planning while supporting the design of service component capacity.
• Continuously monitor and optimize the cloud environment for performance, cost-efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Work within a matrix organizational structure, reporting to both the functional manager and the project manager.
• Participate in project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with both functional and project goals.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science or any Technology stream (mandatory).
• 3-7 years of hands-on technical experience in migrating workloads to cloud-based environments.
• Cloud Migration Engineering: end-to-end migration of applications, data, and infrastructure from on-premises to cloud platforms.
• AWS cloud expertise (primary focus, ~90%): hands-on experience with EC2, RDS, EMS, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub integration.
• Cloud migration strategy and planning: assessing cloud readiness, defining migration roadmaps, and selecting appropriate deployment models (On-prem to Cloud / Cloud to Cloud).
• Migration execution: rehosting, re-platforming, and refactoring applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for automated, scalable, and repeatable cloud deployments.
• Change management and control: implementing and managing change requests using defined processes, tools, and governance standards.
• Cloud operations and optimization: continuous monitoring and optimization for performance, cost efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Availability and capacity management: supporting service availability requirements and contributing to capacity planning and modelling.
• Project execution in matrix environments: working across functional and project teams to deliver migration initiatives successfully.

• Azure cloud exposure (~10%) for hybrid or multi-cloud migration scenarios.
• CI/CD tools and automation: GitHub, pipeline setup, and deployment automation in cloud environments.
• Cloud native concepts and best practices: ongoing awareness of evolving cloud technologies and architectural patterns.
• Security and compliance awareness during cloud migration and operations.
• Monitoring and performance tuning of migrated workloads.
• Documentation and technical reporting for migration plans, change requests, and operational procedures.
• Industry domain exposure in Bio-Science, Healthcare, Pharma, Retail, and Logistics.
• AWS certifications to validate cloud expertise.
• Experience with AI tools such as Gemini, Claude and Copilot.
