Overview
The Accounting Manager leads a Bengaluru-based accounting team responsible for the accurate and timely preparation and review of financial information across assigned entities and accounting processes. The role works with US-based Accounting leadership to oversee close activities, review accounting work, support controls and develop Accounting Associates.
What you'll do
- Lead the day-to-day execution of assigned accounting activities in accordance with accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Review journal entries, account reconciliations, financial schedules, supporting workpapers and other accounting deliverables.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities, including work allocation, completion tracking, review deadlines and issue escalation.
- Review balance sheet accounts and financial results for unusual items, reconciling differences and accounting exceptions.
- Lead and develop Accounting Associates through performance expectations, workload allocation, coaching and training.
- Establish and monitor team operating metrics, including close timeliness, reconciliation completion, unresolved accounting exceptions, review status and quality measures.
- Maintain the accounting control environment, including assigned controls, segregation of duties, review evidence and documented procedures.
- Partner with US-based Accounting leadership and Finance stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, respond to information requests and deliver financial information.
- Support internal and external audit activities, including documentation, audit requests and remediation of process or control issues.
- Maintain accounting procedures, review standards and supporting documentation across assigned processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, standardize recurring processes, reduce manual effort and improve use of Oracle Fusion, FloQast, Excel, AI and other automation capabilities.
- Partner with the Senior Director, US-based leadership and Revantage India on staffing, hiring, performance management and team development.
- Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce or a related field.
- Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a large, multi-entity organization or shared-services environment.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and core accounting processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, financial statement accounts and period-end close.
- Demonstrated ability to review accounting work product, identify errors or unusual items and distinguish routine issues from matters requiring escalation or technical judgment.
- Experience working within an ERP environment.
- Working knowledge of internal controls, segregation of duties and SOX or comparable control environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to work effectively with large volumes of financial information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring close deadlines, competing priorities and multiple team deliverables.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in business English, with the ability to document accounting conclusions and collaborate with US-based teams and other stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using spreadsheets to support reconciliations, account analysis and financial reporting.
Nice to have
- CA, CMA, MBA (Finance) or another relevant professional qualification.
- Two or more years of experience reviewing accounting work and providing day-to-day direction, coaching or supervision to other team members.
- Oracle Fusion experience.
- Experience using close management software platforms such as BlackLine or FloQast.
- Experience within real estate, property management, hospitality or another asset-intensive, multi-entity business.

- Working hours are aligned to provide meaningful daily overlap with US business hours.
