Overview
Work as a Senior Engineer in Tapeout Engineering within Global Tapeout and Mask Operations (GTMO), providing tapeout services for semiconductor wafer manufacturing in collaboration with internal teams.
What you'll do
- Engage in daily tapeout operations, including Design Rule Checking (DRC), Mask Data Preparation, validation of tapeout data, and releasing data for fracture.
- Collaborate with Global Tapeout Operations teams to develop and implement methodologies that improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and improve cycle times.
- Solve complex technical problems and contribute to multiple projects at the same time.
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ensure processes align with industry standards and meet project timelines.
- Assist management in collecting tapeout metrics and KPIs monthly.
- Help develop action plans to address deviations from targets.
- Debug problems with EDA tool runs and failures.
- Learn and explore new technologies, opportunities, and continuous improvement.
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
- Own and maintain tapeout FMEAs.
- Develop documentation of best practices and flow training material.
- Conduct internal training as required.
What you'll need
- Master’s Degree (MS/MTech) with specialization in Electrical (VLSI, Microelectronics and related) or Materials Science, Solid State Physics.
- 0 to 2 years of experience.
- Fluency in English Language, verbal and written.
- Availability for full-time work throughout the year.
Nice to have
- Decent scripting skills to automate tapeout process flows.
- Exceptional ability with LINUX commands and directory structure.
- Familiarity with the use of LSF.
- Knowledge of Python, Shell, TCL and MySQL.
- EDA (Electronic Design Automation) experience in Mentor Graphics Siemens, Synopsys, Cadence or similar tools.
Details
- Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
- Work from the GF Bengaluru office.
- Available to work 40 hours a week.
- Flexible to cover the Sun-Thu or Tue-Sat shift depending on management need.
- Requires close working relationships and collaboration with Optical Proximity Correction (OPC), Frame, Tapeout Logistics and Integration (TLI), Global Shuttle Operations (GSO), and Product Life Cycle Manufacturing (PLCM) teams.
