Sr Lead Engineer- PPAT

Overview

Design, develop, modify and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications and specialized utility programs for Qualcomm products, collaborating with systems, hardware, architecture and test engineers.

What you'll do

• Leverage software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications and/or specialized utility programs.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.
• Design and implement software modules for products and systems.
• Participate in the design, coding for large features, unit testing, significant debugging fixes and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
• Perform code reviews and regression tests, and triage and fix issues to ensure the quality of code.
• Collaborate with others inside and outside of the project team to accomplish project objectives.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Nice to have

• Master's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Database Management Software.
• 3+ years of experience with API.
• 1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management System.

• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information; may require basic negotiation, influence and tact.
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
