Overview
Build reusable, accessible Lit (Web Components) UI elements for the Ethos Design System (EDS), which serves as the shared UI library for GE HealthCare's global software portfolio. The components must work across React, Angular and Vue.
What you'll do
- Develop robust, encapsulated UI components using the Lit library, with clean semantic HTML and scoped SASS CSS.
- Define clean, intuitive Component APIs, including Inputs (Props), Outputs (Events) and Slots.
- Own the wrapper layer: test and optimize components so they integrate seamlessly into React, Angular and Vue applications.
- Work daily with Architects, Product owners, LSDs (Lead System Designers), DevOps and QA to align with architecture and CI/CD standards.
- Use Figma Dev Mode to inspect layers, extract properties and match the design team's specifications.
- Ensure every component complies with WCAG 2.1 AA, including keyboard navigation, ARIA screen reader support and color contrast.
- Write comprehensive unit tests using tools such as ViTest or Jest.
- Contribute to Storybook with usage examples and technical integration guides.
- Manage work items in Rally, including status updates and story point estimation, and take part in Agile ceremonies.
- Use AI-assisted engineering for refactoring, testing, migrations, documentation, debugging and code review within team AI practices.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in front-end development.
- Proven experience building enterprise software applications.
- 3+ years of experience working closely with UX Designers.
- Proficiency using Figma Dev Mode.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Deep understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and SASS architecture.
- Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Codex, GH Copilot, Claude) as part of the daily coding workflow, from writing and reviewing code to debugging and documentation.
- Proficiency working in Agile environments and using Rally.
- Experience writing unit tests (Jest, ViTest) and documentation (Storybook).
Nice to have
