Staff+ Application Security Engineer

Overview

Staff+ Application Security Engineer on Anthropic’s Application Security team, securing systems that build, serve, and increasingly are Claude.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and operate Claude-powered security systems for LLM-driven code analysis.
• Automate vulnerability remediation and perform AI-assisted threat modeling.
• Lead secure design reviews and threat modeling for novel AI systems.
• Operate and improve a public bug bounty program with automation for routine triage.
• Partner with Product, Infrastructure, and Research as an embedded security owner.
• Take part in an on-run rotation for bounty escalations, incident response, and launch consults.

What you'll need

• Hands-on application and infrastructure security experience, including cloud and containerized environments.
• Production-quality coding ability in at least one of Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Practical threat-modeling and vulnerability-identification skills from real systems.
• Ability to operate autonomously and handle ambiguity without a detailed spec.
• Clear technical communication with engineers and leadership.

• Annual compensation range listed as $320,000–$485,000 USD.
• Hybrid policy expects staff in an office at least 25% of the time.
