Overview
Own and run the Google Cloud Platform environment as a product, covering the landing zone and JLL application platforms across AMER, EMEA and APAC.
What you'll do
- Administer the enabled GCP platform, including projects, folders, organization policies, IAM, networking, quotas and service enablement, for a stable, well-governed environment.
- Act as product owner for the GCP platform: define the roadmap, prioritize enhancements, gather requirements from consuming teams, and improve capabilities, reliability and developer experience.
- Manage the global platform exclusively through Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform), building reusable modules, pipelines and self-service patterns.
- Own the platform's security posture with Security and GRC teams, covering identity and access management, network security, data protection, logging/audit and continuous compliance monitoring, including in-region requirements.
- Ensure the platform's design and operating model reflect best practices across infrastructure engineering, AI/ML enablement and modern software development (CI/CD, GitOps, testing, observability).
- Help shape and document the target architecture, guardrails, policies and operating procedures for the GCP platform, aligned with enterprise architecture and cloud strategy.
- Take end-to-end ownership of delivering and managing the GCP platform supporting JLL application products in regions, from build-out through steady-state operations.
- Lead completion of the global landing zone as a reusable, standardized IaC blueprint, including documentation, automation and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of the GCP platform's services, architecture decisions, dependencies and constraints as the go-to subject matter expert.
- Build working relationships with product teams, application owners, Security, GRC, enterprise architecture and regional stakeholders, communicating capabilities, constraints and roadmap.
- Manage intake, prioritization and resolution of platform requests end-to-end, tracking them transparently through to closure.
What you'll need
- Extensive hands-on experience administering and engineering Google Cloud Platform at scale, including organization/folder/project structure, IAM, VPC networking, GKE, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL/Spanner, logging and monitoring, and related core services.
- Strong practical experience with Terraform (or equivalent IaC tooling) and CI/CD pipelines to automate provisioning, configuration and lifecycle management.
- Solid understanding of cloud security architecture, IAM best practices, network security and GRC frameworks, with experience implementing controls that satisfy audit and regulatory requirements.
- Comfortable with modern software development practices (Git-based workflows, code review, testing, GitOps) as applied to infrastructure and platform code.
- Working knowledge of how AI/ML workloads are supported on cloud platforms and how platform design must evolve to enable AI-driven use cases.
- Proven ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders, local and global, and translate business needs into platform capabilities.
- Experience treating a platform as a product, with a roadmap, prioritization process and focus on the experience of consuming teams.
- 10+ years of overall experience, with 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure/platform engineering, including significant experience specifically on Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrated experience owning a cloud platform end-to-end, including security, automation and stakeholder engagement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to balance competing priorities across security, delivery speed and cost.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to produce clear architecture, policy and standards documentation.
- Willingness to collaborate across time zones with global and regional stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
Nice to have
- Relevant GCP certifications, such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud Security Engineer.
- Experience with AWS and Azure.
- Experience delivering cloud infrastructure in regions such as China, KSA or Germany, with regulated/regional environments.
