Overview
The Staff Data Engineer designs, builds, and operates the data foundation and evaluation infrastructure behind ServiceNow CRM Agentic AI.
What you'll do
- Design and architect data infrastructure and pipelines for structured and unstructured data sources.
- Establish processes and data flows across cloud services and storage forms and own data producer-consumer contracts.
- Build and automate data transformation using machine learning and data-engineering techniques to maintain data integrity and quality.
- Define agentic evaluation metrics and corresponding ground truth with product and AI teams.
- Design and implement automated evaluation infrastructure using LLMs and agent execution logs, including dashboards and reporting.
- Set design standards and quality gates, analyze performance, and recommend optimizations for evolving CRM AI needs.
What you'll need
- 8+ years in data engineering with end-to-end ownership of production data platforms.
- Hands-on experience building measurement/evaluation infrastructure for ML/AI systems.
- Experience defining ground truth and directing labeling work, including guideline authoring and annotator agreement.
- Production Python, strong SQL, distributed processing, workflow orchestration, a cloud data platform, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/on-call experience.
- Evidence of setting standards others adopted (design standards, quality gates, validation frameworks).
- Sales CRM/lead-to-cash/order data familiarity sufficient to judge whether evaluation data reflects real seller/agent behavior.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
