GCP Data Engineer

Overview

Mattel is hiring a GCP Data Engineer in Hyderabad to design and develop scalable cloud data pipelines and trusted analytics datasets.

What you’ll do

• Lead the design and development of scalable cloud-based data pipelines.
• Ingest structured and semi-structured data into a centralized cloud data warehouse using Google BigQuery.
• Transform raw data into trusted, curated datasets for reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.
• Implement modular data transformation logic using DBT.
• Apply BigQuery best practices like partitioning, clustering, and query optimization.
• Automate and monitor data workflows using Airflow/Cloud Composer.
• Establish data quality checks and testing strategies and mentor junior engineers.

What you’ll need

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
• Expert-level experience with Google BigQuery for large-scale data warehousing and analytics.
• Expert-level experience with Python for data processing, orchestration, and scripting.
• Expert-level experience with SQL for data wrangling, transformation, and query optimization.
• Expert-level experience with DBT for modular and maintainable transformation layers.
• Expert-level experience with Airflow/Cloud Composer for orchestration and scheduling.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and managing IT backlogs.
