Staff+ Researcher, Cybersecurity Products

Overview

As a Capabilities Researcher on a product team building Claude Security, you’ll determine which frontier-model security capabilities are ready to build, measure their performance, and make them usable for customers who aren’t security experts.

What you'll do

• Prototype quickly to identify the AI frontier for cybersecurity work.
• Design evaluations to measure model performance on security tasks teams actually do.
• Build datasets, harnesses, and scoring needed for the evaluations.
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity community to define where AI can have the most impact.
• Work with engineers and researchers to operationalize promising capabilities into reliable customer-facing options.
• Track changes in security-related model capabilities and use that to inform what the team builds next.
• Share findings to inform product direction and partner with product leadership on priorities.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of experience in security research, security engineering, or a closely related field.
• Deep expertise in one or more security domains such as vulnerability research, exploit development, reverse engineering, malware analysis, incident response, or offensive security.
• Ability to go from an idea to a working prototype quickly and discard those that don’t hold up.
• Comfort designing rigorous evaluations and interpreting results honestly.
• Ability to write and communicate clearly about technical findings.
• Experience building AI-powered tools or capabilities for security work.

• Role is described as a research role on a product team.
• Location-based hybrid policy: staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
