Staff Security Engineer (Vulnerability Management)

Overview

Staff Security Engineer focused on vulnerability management, including enterprise vulnerability tooling and cloud-based risk reduction.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute a strategic vision for vulnerability management balancing safety and agility.
• Implement and manage enterprise vulnerability tools and processes in a cloud environment.
• Partner with development teams to design security controls for detection, prevention, and remediation.
• Identify and evaluate vulnerabilities and cloud misconfigurations and support remediation with stakeholders.
• Review threats and collaborate with remediation owners to prioritize and remediate findings.
• Drive continuous improvement and create knowledge around vulnerability management practices.
• Research security best practices and produce threat briefs and assessment reports for stakeholders.

What you'll need

• Experience managing and configuring a vulnerability management tool (e.g., Rapid7, Tenable, Qualys, Brinqa).
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Hands-on vulnerability management operations experience for cloud workloads at scale in AWS or Azure.
• Experience with vulnerability analysis and remediation strategies, including mentoring technical teams.
• Strong written communication for documentation and tailored updates for technical and business audiences.
• Thorough understanding of enterprise security controls, network protocols, and Windows/Linux operating systems.
