Staff Software Development Engineer

Overview

Staff Software Development Engineer on the Data Platform Engineering team, building full-stack Java and web solutions that harness healthcare data at scale.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, deploy, test and support technical solutions using Java full-stack development tools and technologies.
• Design and develop user friendly, responsive web interfaces using modern web application frameworks.
• Utilize programming languages like Java, SQL and Python (backend) and JavaScript, HTML/CSS (frontend).
• Deploy microservices using container orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS managed services and tools.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems and performance issues.

What you'll need

• Expert level knowledge in RDBMS/SQL and NoSQL databases.
• 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Java development.
• 5+ years experience with Angular.
• Extensive experience in SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Demonstrated experience in caching, queuing, scheduling, concurrent and event-driven architectures.
• Demonstrated experience of developing applications on/for Linux platforms.
• Proven track record of implementing distributed systems and microservice architectures (RESTful APIs).
• Involved knowledge of best practices for implementing secure web applications.
• Strong experience with AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure, GCP and/or other clouds.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment techniques.
• One of the following degrees (preferably in Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Electronics or Electrical Engineering): Bachelor of Technology (BTech) or Master of Technology (MTech) or Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Master of Sciences (MS) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA).
• Should be a team player and excel in fast-paced agile environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in data pipelines.
• Experience in Big Data technologies like Snowflake, Datastax.
