Staff Software Development Engineer

Overview

Lead the design and development of large-scale data systems supporting advertising reporting, attribution, analytics, and optimization. Own projects end to end while shaping architecture and mentoring engineers.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain large-scale data pipelines for Ads reporting, attribution, and analytics.
• Process petabyte-scale datasets using Hive, Spark, SQL, Scala, and Kafka.
• Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with data scientists, product managers, and platform engineers to deliver datasets and APIs.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across data sources.
• Troubleshoot real-time streaming pipelines and batch data jobs.
• Evaluate technologies to improve the Ads Data platform.

What you'll need

• 6–9 years of backend development experience.
• Strong programming experience in Scala, Java, or Python.
• Hands-on Apache Spark experience for batch and streaming.
• Proficiency in Hive, SQL, and data modeling.
• Experience with Kafka for real-time event streaming.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience in AdTech, attribution, or campaign analytics.
• Familiarity with cloud-based big data solutions.
• Familiarity with Airflow or similar scheduling services.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
