Overview

Staff Software Engineer on the Files Platform team, building enterprise file management systems for secure storage, access control, permissions synchronization, and third-party integrations.

What you'll do

• Architect and implement backend services for file storage, permissions, and integrations.
• Build event-driven systems for real-time permission propagation.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and compliance teams.
• Lead migrations and zero-downtime production rollouts.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Develop AI-powered file processing and metadata capabilities.
• Evaluate third-party file platform capabilities.

What you'll need

• 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
• Experience with Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience with MySQL, Postgres, or SQL Server.
• Ability to complete complex cross-team projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Experience working with file system vendors.

Details

• Remote, United States.
• Base salary: $158,000–$248,000 USD yearly.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
