Overview
Staff Specialist Software on the Infrastructure, Methodology and Automation team, which defines the methodologies, tools, and automation used for automotive microcontroller software development and validation.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve development and validation methodologies for automotive microcontroller software, and turn them into practical tools, templates, and automated workflows.
- Gather requirements from software, validation, and platform teams, and translate them into architecture, detailed design, and high-quality implementation.
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based frameworks, CLI tools, libraries, and services that automate build, configuration, code generation, test, and validation activities.
- Design and build agentic AI pipelines that automate engineering tasks.
- Build GenAI solutions using prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) over specifications and code bases, embeddings and vector search, and tool-calling and multi-agent orchestration.
- Evaluate output quality, safety, latency, and cost.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for build, test, static analysis, coverage, packaging, and release.
- Apply MLOps/LLMOps practices for model, prompt, and agent versioning, evaluation, and deployment.
- Drive tools and frameworks that scale across multiple projects and sites, with a focus on robustness, operability, and supportability.
- Uphold coding standards, and conduct code and design reviews using OOP principles and design patterns.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across toolchains, pipelines, and embedded targets, and drive root-cause analysis and timely resolution.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, software and validation teams, QA, and DevOps to define requirements, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
- Produce and maintain documentation for methodologies, frameworks, AI components, and pipelines.
- Promote continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and responsible AI adoption across the organization.
What you'll need
- 6-8 years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on Python development.
- 1-2+ years of applied AI/ML or GenAI experience in real project.
- Strong Python skills, including object-oriented design, design patterns, packaging, typing, and async/concurrency.
- CI/CD experience (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), including pipeline design, release automation, and artifact management.
- Experience building tools and automation for large-scale, multi-team or multi-site deployment.
- Understanding of Git and collaborative workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code review).
- Clean, maintainable, well-documented code with strong attention to quality and reliability.
- Excellent communication skills, strong teamwork, and a proactive mindset.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of automotive development processes and standards, including ISO 26262 (functional safety) and Automotive SPICE.
- Experience with AUTOSAR and related tooling (e.g., EB Tresos, Vector DaVinci Configurator).
- Experience with automotive microcontroller platforms (e.g., Infineon AURIX, NXP S32, Renesas RH850) and their toolchains.
- Experience with SIL/HIL validation, test automation tools, and requirements/traceability tools (e.g., DOORS, Polarion, Jama).
- Experience with MLOps/LLMOps tools (e.g., MLflow, DVC, evaluation and observability tooling) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
