Overview
System Design Engineer for Power Quality, supporting system design for FACTS solutions based on customer requirements and standards.
What you'll do
- Define topology and create single line diagrams for FACTS solutions per customer requirements.
- Specify main power system circuit components (e.g., power transformer, power electronics valves, reactors, capacitors, CT/VT, breakers) based on specifications and international standards.
- Coordinate with suppliers, evaluate their design and test documentation.
- Conduct design studies including harmonic performance, protection design, insulation coordination, loss evaluation, and reliability studies.
- Coordinate and communicate with other disciplines for project and tender deliveries.
- Support customer discussions and assist project/product/application engineering teams during customer acquisition and consultation.
- Own design scope deliverables including design, time schedule, budget, and quality, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
What you'll need
- Relevant experience of 2-5 years with an M. Tech in Power Systems.
- Relevant experience of 5-10 years with a B.E/B. Tech in Electrical Engineering.
- In-depth understanding of power system steady state, dynamic, and transient behavior.
- Experience with substation design and studies such as protection, insulation coordination, and lightning study.
- Experience specifying power system components and evaluating vendor documents.
- Knowledge of PSCAD and MATLAB.
- In-depth understanding of international standards (IEEE/IEC/GIGRE) for component specification and design studies.
