System Engineer - Plant Operability & Design

Overview

System Engineer responsible for plant operability and design across water/steam cycle, balance-of-plant systems, plant integration, and control concepts for NPI and project execution activities.

What you'll do

• Verify overall cycle concepts and define individual BOP system concepts.
• Perform system design calculations and issue functional equipment specifications.
• Define operation concepts for BOP systems, HRSG, plant start-up, and load control.
• Prepare control specifications for individual systems and overall plant control.
• Participate in software acceptance tests.
• Provide site support during commissioning and support remote commissioning activities.
• Lead system-level design and cost comparisons for NPI programs.

What you'll need

• 0–2 years of experience in power plant engineering.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Knowledge of design methods, rules, and tools for specifying systems and components.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ANSI, ASME, NFPA, IEC, and VDE.
• Knowledge of controls-system and electrical interfaces.
• Problem analysis and resolution skills.
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel.

• Readiness to travel for workshop inspections.
• Ability to negotiate and make presentations.
