Technology Assurance Specialist

Overview

Technology Assurance Specialist role in WPP’s Technology Risk & Controls function, providing independent assurance over Technology Operations control environments.

What you'll do

• Execute control design and operating effectiveness testing across Technology Operations processes.
• Support internal, external, and client audits by preparing, coordinating evidence, and responding to audit queries.
• Liaise with control owners and operators to obtain, validate, and clarify audit evidence and documentation.
• Maintain documentation for risks, controls, testing results, and remediation activities.
• Monitor and track audit deficiencies and follow up noncompliance remediation evidence.
• Conduct walkthroughs of automated and manual controls and document potential mitigating controls.
• Prepare status updates and working papers for review and promptly escalate control issues and evidence gaps.

What you'll need

• Solid understanding of Technology Operations control environments including ITGCs, IAM, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and service management processes.
• Prior experience in internal or external IT audit, risk, or controls assurance roles.
• Working knowledge of SOX 404 with experience supporting SOX audits in complex or large-scale technology environments.
• Ability to execute control testing accurately and consistently in line with defined methodologies.
• Strong attention to detail focused on evidence quality and documentation standards.
• Communication skills to explain control requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CIA, CRISC) are advantageous.
