Trade Management UI Engineer – FIC Shared Services, AVP

Overview

Design and develop next-generation web-based trade management tools for the FIC Shared Services department, used globally across all Fixed Income and Currencies business units.

What you'll do

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance React applications.
• Deliver clean, reusable and production-quality code using React, TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
• Contribute to front-end solution design, component architecture and development standards.
• Develop reusable components and libraries to improve consistency and engineering productivity.
• Integrate applications with RESTful APIs and enterprise services.
• Develop comprehensive unit and component tests using Jest, React Testing Library or equivalent technologies.
• Participate actively in technical design discussions, code reviews and engineering improvements.
• Identify and resolve application performance, stability and maintainability issues.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers, UX/design, QA, DevOps and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex development and production issues and contribute to sustainable fixes.
• Support the modernization of legacy applications and adoption of current front-end technologies.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the team.
• Take ownership of assigned components and features from design through production delivery and support.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of software development experience, with strong experience in front-end/web application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and modern React development practices.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6+).
• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3 and responsive web development.
• Good understanding of React Hooks, component design and reusable development patterns.
• Strong experience consuming and integrating REST APIs.
• Understanding of client-side architecture and common front-end design patterns.
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD and modern build/package-management tooling.
• Understanding of browser compatibility and front-end performance considerations.
• Awareness of secure web-development practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop well-tested, maintainable and performant software.
• Experience working within Agile development environments, including tools such as Jira.
• Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimize workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.

Nice to have

• Understanding of financial markets, workflows and driving firm-wide initiatives.
